Believe it or not, there really are millionaires who give money away, to be more precise there are billionaires who give money away. This is not a scam, there is a lot of information on the internet about millionaires giving money away and it's confusing to make any real judgement. From my research I have found a there are billionaires who have actually pledged a majority of their wealth to philanthropy either in their will or to be paid out during their lifetime. It's very unlikely that a millionaire or billionaire will give money direct to your bank account unless you are extremely lucky. There are instances where billionaires and millionaires have helped individuals.

The Giving Pledge is a place where billionaires and millionaires who give money away, have made a pledge to giveaway a majority of their wealth to help people in need. The exact definition of the Giving Pledge is that it is a movement of philanthropists who commit to giving a majority of their wealth to philanthropy or good causes, either during their lifetimes or int their wills. Most of the millionaires who give money away do so through their foundations. The money is given to various programs that are supported by the foundation.

It was actually started by 40 of America's wealthiest billionaires and millionaires who joined together to commit a hefty proportion of their wealth to people in need. The Pledge was created by Bill and Melinda Gates, and Warren Buffett. This pledge has now ballooned into more that 100 philanthropists and undoubtedly will make a brilliant impact to people who are in need. It is one of the greatest transfers of wealth from extremely rich to extremely poor.

Warren Buffett is along with Bill & Melinda Gates are the founders of The Giving Pledge. Back in 2006, Warren Buffett pledged to eventually give away 99% of his entire wealth to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. This sent ripples along the millionaires and billionaires grapevine. Eventually Warren Buffett was inviting more and more billionaires to the Giving Pledge where you have to have at least $1,000,000,000 ($1 Billion USD in assets) and be prepared to give away at least 50% to help people in need.

Warren Buffett is a heavyweight when it comes to making money. He is one of the best billionaires and millionaires who give money away. He made his fortune in the Stock market and despite the many booms and bust, Warren has prevailed, like the Oracle that he is. Warren Buffet's company Berkshire Hathaway is one of the most profitable and most successful businesses of all time. At the wise old age of 90, he has amassed a fortune, he has a personal net-worth of $78.2 Billion, that's $78,200,000,000.  


Two: Larry Ellison

Where would the world be without Larry Ellison, not a lot of people know about Larry Ellison, however, he is a next level visionary who was thinking about cloud computing 40 years before it became a reality, this man was definitely ahead of his time. Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is one of the nicest billionaires and millionaires who give money away. Bloomberg made his fortune with his Bloomberg TV channel which specialises in financial news. He has grabbed a majority of the market and now enjoys enormous wealth. Bloomberg made great strides in New York City by building bridges between communities and helping to clean up crime and anti-social behaviour. Four: Eli & Edythe Broad

Eli Broad is a master investor, he is not on the same level as Warren Buffet (let's face it who is), however, he is an incredibly generous man. At the time of writing this post Eli & Edythe Broad have a personal net worth of $6.1 Billion Dollars derived from the many investments Eli has plunged his money into. Eli has agreed to give more than half of his net worth to help people in need. He is the nicest person you could hope to meet if you see his interviews and his wife Edythe is a sharp cookie too. Both these Millionaires who give money away are an inspiration to us all.

Bill & Melinda Gates have pledged to give away 99% of their wealth to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. What a man! 

Six: Carl Icahn

Larger than life Carl Icahn is the Billionaire and Millionaire who loves to give money away. He the a shareholder activist and loves finding undervalued underachieving companies on the Stock Market. He usually takes a majority share in that company to get a seat at the table and then drags management into the 30th century. The billionaire activist is relentless and he has amassed an incredibly fortune using his unorthodox but effective methods. Carl Icahn is the founder and controlling shareholder of Icahn Industries and has a personal net worth of $16.1 Billion Dollars according to Forbes, that's an amazing $16.100,000,000. Carl Icahn has pledged to give away more half of his net worth to people in need through the Icahn Foundation.

Love eBay? Well you have Jeff Skoll to thank for that. Although eBay has not scaled the mountains Amazon has they provide a brilliant service for online buyers and sellers. Jeff Skoll has a personal net-worth of $4.8 Billion Dollars and he has vowed to give away half of his incredibly wealth to help people in need.

I have no doubt that in the next 30 years Mark Zuckerberg will go to the number 1 stop in the Forbes Rich List, not only because he is young, it's most likely he will get the top spot because of his vision and drive. Mark Zuckerberg is also one of the youngest billionaires in the Giving Pledge, Mark has agreed to give away more than 50% of his wealth to help people in need. What a nice fellow.
